What your clients search

Three searches an immigration client makes before they call

Each one is won in a different place, and most immigration firms are only built for the first. The audit shows which of the three you are losing today.

01

Ready-now searches

A visa, a city, a phone, often not in English

  • immigration lawyer near me
  • abogado de inmigración cerca de mí
  • green card lawyer Houston

Won in the map pack and on the Business Profile, in every language the firm serves. Google ranks the profile and the page in the language of the search.

02

Researching searches

A process question, weeks before the call

  • how long does a spouse visa take
  • can I work while my asylum case is pending
  • what happens at a USCIS interview

Won with a page per visa and relief type that answers the question plainly, is approved by your attorneys, and ends with one clear way to reach you.

03

AI questions

The engines now answer these first

  • which immigration lawyer near me handles asylum
  • is this firm good for H-1B cases
  • best immigration attorney for a family petition

Won by being one verifiable firm everywhere: attorney credentials, languages, case types and reviews that all say the same thing, so the engine can name you.

Inside immigration lawyer marketing

What is different about immigration marketing

The system is the one every page on this site describes. These four things change how it is built for an immigration firm.

01

Languages are the whole game

A firm that serves Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi or Mandarin speakers needs the Business Profile, the key pages and the review requests in those languages, written by a person and approved by you, not a translate button. A Spanish search returns Spanish pages, and most firms have none.

02

A page per visa and relief type

Family petitions, employment visas, asylum, naturalization, removal defense and waivers are different searches with different fears. One immigration services page cannot rank for any of them, and an AI engine cannot quote it for any of them either.

03

Reviews carry more weight than anywhere else

An immigration client is trusting a stranger with their family's status, often from another country. Reviews that name the visa type and the outcome in the client's words decide the call. Replies must never confirm who the client is or what their case was.

04

Rules on what a page can say

No promises of approval, no guaranteed timelines, nothing that implies a relationship with USCIS. My degrees are an LL.B and an LL.M in International Law, so I write to those rules. I am not a licensed US attorney and give no legal advice; your attorneys approve every word.

How you buy it

One audit, one program, one person

Start with the audit for your immigration firm. Continue with the program if the audit earns it. Add review defense, ads or a new site only where they fit.

Meet the founder

Immigration marketing, done by the founder himself

I’m Ashikur Rahman, founder of Proximity Ranker, in SEO since 2017. Immigration is the practice I have written most about: the first nine guides on this site are for immigration firms, and at Doctor Rank, where I worked with the team, immigration firms were part of the legal work. My degrees are in law, an LL.B and an LL.M in International Law, which is why the rules on what an immigration page can promise are familiar ground.

I am not a licensed US attorney and I do not give legal advice. What I bring is the search side done by one person: the profile in your languages, the page per visa, the review flow and the monthly check of what ChatGPT and Google AI say about your firm, with your attorneys approving every word before it publishes.

How much does SEO cost for an immigration law firm?

Immigration is one of the less expensive legal searches to compete in, well below personal injury, so a focused program usually sits at the lower end of what agencies quote law firms, which is $1,500 to $5,000 a month. I do not quote off a shelf. The audit comes first, $750 for one office or $1,200 for several, credited to your first month, and the program is priced against what the audit finds.

Do you build pages in Spanish and other languages?

Yes. The Business Profile, the key visa pages and the review requests go into every language the firm actually serves, written by a person rather than machine-translated, and reviewed by someone at the firm who speaks it. A Spanish search returns Spanish pages, so a firm with none is invisible to that client.

How long until an immigration firm ranks?

Business Profile and map pack improvements often move within the first month or two, especially for second-language searches where few firms compete. Visa pages in a big metro usually take four to six months before the trend is clear. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting searches nobody types or planning something Google will punish.

Can you remove a bad review from a former client?

Only if it breaks Google's policy: a fake review, a reviewer who was never a client, opposing parties, harassment, off-topic content or an extortion attempt. I document those against the specific rule and escalate them. A genuine former client's honest bad review cannot be removed by anyone. For those I write the reply that reassures the next reader without confirming the person was a client or saying anything about their matter.

Are you an immigration lawyer?

No. My degrees are an LL.B and an LL.M in International Law, which is why I can read the rules your content is built on. I am not a licensed attorney in any US state or elsewhere, and nothing I write is legal advice. Your attorneys approve every page before it publishes.
