Illustrative. The top three listings take most of the clicks on a local search, whatever the industry.
What your clients search
Three searches a family law client makes before they call
A family law client researches longer and more privately than any other. The audit shows which of the three searches you are losing today.
01
Ready-now searches
A decision made, a phone, a quiet moment
divorce lawyer near me
child custody attorney Phoenix
family law attorney free consultation
Won in the map pack and on the Business Profile, where the photos, the hours and the reviews are read as a character reference before anyone calls.
02
Researching searches
Weeks of questions before the decision
how is child support calculated
can I move out of state with my child
how long does a divorce take
Won with a page per matter that explains the process plainly and never promises an outcome, approved by your attorneys, and ending with one private way to reach you.
03
AI questions
Asked of an engine because it feels private
best divorce lawyer near me for a contested case
family lawyer who handles custody and relocation
do I need a lawyer for an uncontested divorce
Won by being one verifiable firm everywhere: attorney credentials, the matters you take, and reviews that talk about being listened to rather than about anyone's case.
Inside family law firm marketing
What is different about family law marketing
The system is the one every page on this site describes. These four things change how it is built for a family law firm.
01
Privacy decides the call
The client is often searching from a shared phone or a work computer. The site needs a calm tone, real attorneys rather than stock photos of arguments, a consultation path that feels discreet, and review replies that never confirm who the reviewer is or what happened. That is what makes a firm feel safe to call.
02
Process pages win the research
Divorce, custody, support, modification, adoption and prenuptial agreements are long decisions with specific questions along the way. A page per matter that explains what happens next, in order, without promising a result, is what the researching client reads and what an AI engine quotes.
03
The Business Profile is read as a character reference
Photos of the actual attorneys and the actual office, accurate hours, the matters you take listed as services, and reviews that mention listening, honesty and responsiveness. Those are the words a family law client searches a profile for, and the words the engines pick up when they decide who to name.
04
Rules on what a page can say
No guarantees about custody or outcomes, no comparative claims about other lawyers, nothing that creates an unjustified expectation. My degrees are an LL.B and an LL.M in International Law, so I write to those rules. I am not a licensed US attorney and give no legal advice; your attorneys approve every word.
How you buy it
One audit, one program, one person
Start with the audit for your family law firm. Continue with the program if the audit earns it. Add review defense, ads or a new site only where they fit.
I’m Ashikur Rahman, founder of Proximity Ranker, in SEO since 2017, formerly Partner and SEO Manager at Doctor Rank, where I worked with the team on legal and medical practices whose content had to protect the people it was about. Family law is the practice where that matters most on the marketing side: every review reply, every page and every photo is read by someone deciding whether you can be trusted with something private. My degrees are in law, an LL.B and an LL.M in International Law.
I am not a licensed US attorney and I do not give legal advice. What I bring is the search side done by one person: the profile, the replies, the page per matter, the review flow and the monthly check of what ChatGPT and Google AI say about your firm, with your attorneys approving every word before it publishes.

How much does SEO cost for a family law firm?
Family law sits in the middle of what agencies quote law firms, $1,500 to $5,000 a month, with contested-divorce searches in big metros at the upper end. I do not quote off a shelf. The audit comes first, $750 for one office or $1,200 for several, credited to your first month, and the program is priced against what the audit finds.
Our reviews mention our clients' situations. Is that a problem?
A client can say whatever they like about their own case. The firm cannot. Your replies must never confirm the reviewer was a client or say anything about their matter, and the review-request flow should ask people to talk about how they were treated rather than what happened. I rewrite existing replies where they cross that line and build the flow so new ones do not.
Can you get a review from an angry ex-spouse removed?
Often, yes, because an opposing party posting about a case is a conflict of interest under Google's review policy, and harassment and off-topic content are violations too. I document the review against the specific rule and escalate it. A genuine former client's honest bad review cannot be removed by anyone, and for those I write the reply that reassures the next reader without disclosing anything.
How long until we rank for divorce lawyer searches?
Business Profile and map pack improvements often move within the first month or two. Divorce and custody searches in a big metro usually take four to six months before the trend is clear, because established firms have years of reviews and content. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting searches nobody types or planning something Google will punish.
Who writes the pages, and who approves them?
I draft every page in plain language, written to bar advertising rules: no outcome guarantees, no comparative claims, nothing that creates an unjustified expectation. Your attorneys approve every word before it publishes. I am not a licensed US attorney and nothing I write is legal advice.
Your map pack for divorce and custody searches, your Business Profile, your reviews and your replies, and what the AI engines say about your firm, checked against the three competitors who get named. Seven days, $750, credited to your first month.
